Djuma Soundsystem is the project of Norwegian DJ and producer Mikkas, best known for the classic track “Les Djinns”. It started out as a duo but has long been a solo project. The sound sits between disco, house and techno, with an emphasis on melody, organic rhythms and African percussion; he is considered one of the pioneers of modern Afro house. Released on Get Physical, Crosstown Rebels, Stil vor Talent, Sol Selectas, Toolroom, Audiomatique and Eskimo, and founded the label iZIKI. Has played at Space Ibiza, Watergate, Cocoon, and at Fusion, Roskilde, Exit and Universo Paralello.
