Nurbergen Makhambetov is the godfather of Almaty's club scene. In the mid-90s he was at the origins of the country's first independent radio station, founded Shahar radio, which grew into Energy FM, and is now a music producer at Business FM. Together with Nariman Isenov he plays as The Godfathers, the old school of Almaty electronic music. His sets feature disco, nu-disco, house, R'n'B and hip-hop. A judge on X Factor Kazakhstan, with weekly sets at "Barmaglot".
